WE don’t know whether there was ever more than just one 1st Annual Small Penis Contest but we do know that ever-controversial US radio DJ Howard Stern did the world a favour by showing us all that intersex men really do exist.

Hats off to the courageous men who took part in the show and to Howard Stern for staging it, despite our misgivings about Stern’s methods and his customary audience.
Stern himself has no qualms about admitting that he too has very small assets down there.
These men were incredibly lucky to have escaped the surgeon’s knife and endocrinologist’s needle when they were born. Some slip through medicine’s net.
Doctors have long been labouring under the bizarre and mistaken belief that if you take a baby boy and cut up his genitals so they vaguely resemble those of a girl, then do your best to browbeat and brainwash him into believing he is a girl instead of a boy, he will somehow come to believe that he is.
One of their justifications is that no man would like to have a short penis, so he would be better off being a woman.
Some intersex people call this common medical belief and practice Intersex Genital Mutilation – IGM – and liken it to Female Genital Mutilation – FGM – as both are done for cultural reasons and not out of medical need.
Intersex people call for FGM and IGM to halt immediately.
Some doctors who once believed in IGM have ceased committing it upon intersex newborns, but it appears most have not.
