CEO of ACON Resigns

by admin on Monday, 20 July, 2009

The Australian LGBTI press has reported that Stevie Clayton, CEO of ACON, has tendered her resignation and will be in the seat until a replacement can be found, possibly from amongst overseas candidates.

ACON has been conspicuous within the LGBTI community for the exclusion of intersex from its health and human rights programs and failure to use the word intersex.

We hope that the incoming CEO of ACON will be intersex-inclusive, and that the organisation as a whole will embrace intersex. Ideology and other systems of belief have no place in seeking good health and human rights for all. We look forward to the future encouragement of diversity and an end to division from the new ACON CEO.
